Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello there! My name is Alicia Johnson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in South Carolina. I graduated from CSU in 2008 with my BS in Psychology and from Webster University in 2013 with my MA in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling. I’ve been in private practice since, with a couple of years sabbatical here and there because I am also a mom to three kids. My license is based in South Carolina as I grew up in the Summerville/Charleston area; however, now I live with my kids and spouse (and lots of chickens!) in Brevard, NC, where you’ll frequently find us on a camping excursion in our VW bus. I am a very client centered, process orientated, relational, meet you where you are kind of therapist and I hope that I can walk with you as you work to close the discrepancy between the life you want to live and the life you are currently living (while we look at how you got here!). I utilize many interventions to do this and pull from lots of modalities and theory (I love a good “brain hack” or tool), but mainly I hope to be understanding, compassionate, and curious about you.

Alicia Johnson is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing with a South Carolina license. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from CSU in 2008 and completed a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling at Webster University in 2013.
Since finishing her graduate training she has maintained a private practice, taking a couple of sabbatical years along the way while raising her three children. Her license is based in South Carolina and she grew up in the Summerville and Charleston area. She now lives with her spouse, children, and many chickens in Brevard, NC, and the family often spends time camping in their VW bus.
Her therapeutic style is client-centered, process-oriented, and relational – she aims to meet people where they are and accompany them as they work toward narrowing the gap between the life they want and the life they are living, while exploring how they arrived there. She draws on a variety of interventions and theoretical approaches, enjoys practical tools and brain hacks, and strives to remain understanding, compassionate, and curious about each person she works with.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and navigating life changes – therapy delivered online can be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and practitioner experience indicate comparable results for these everyday issues, making virtual sessions a viable option for many people.
One major benefit of online therapy is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that best fits their needs and schedule – via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into busy lives and to choose the communication style that feels most comfortable.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and if someone decides a different therapist would be a better fit they have the option to switch. For those weighing whether remote therapy is suitable, it can offer accessible, adaptable support across a broad set of common emotional and relational concerns.
