Amber Back is an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). She provides a safe and confidential space where clients can explore life’s challenges and difficulties.
Amber offers non-judgemental, empathic therapy that invites clients to share their thoughts, feelings and the issues they are experiencing. She has experience supporting people with stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem and confidence, and coping with life changes, and she has a particular interest in working with those recovering from toxic relationships.
Her practice is rooted in an integrative approach, drawing primarily on person-centred principles and transactional analysis, while also incorporating cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused techniques and gestalt where appropriate. Person-centred work means she moves at a pace that suits each client, and an integrative stance allows her to tailor therapeutic work to the unique needs of the individual.
Amber believes clients are the experts in their own stories and often already possess strengths that can help them navigate difficulties. She recognises the courage it takes to seek change and aims to support and empower clients throughout that process.
Her ambition is to encourage constructive, positive change while preserving client autonomy and control over therapy. Amber strives to create an environment of trust, non-judgement and congruence so clients can explore, challenge and make sense of their thoughts and feelings.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can offer meaningful help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapeutic support into everyday life.
Each therapist involved is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they want a different fit. Online therapy can therefore deliver effective support while offering practical convenience for many people.
