I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory and the Person-Centred Approach. CBT helps us to work through our problems by understanding the connections between our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours so that we can make changes. It helps us to break down and solve our problems so we can feel better. Attachment Theory helps us to understand the close relationships and emotional bond we build with our caregivers when infants. This understanding can help us to overcome the impact of negative childhood experiences and build healthy relationships and create new healthy bonds. The Person-Centred Approach is a form of non-judgemental talking therapy which allows us to discover solutions to our problems so we can fulfil our potential.
Reaching out for support takes courage so congratulations on taking your first steps.
I look forward to connecting with you soon
Please note: I am a Psychotherapist in UK and adhere to the BACP Ethical Guidelines and UK law will apply to my Psychotherapy practice.
*Confidentiality. I am required to break confidentiality if I believe there is a significant risk of harm to yourself or others. As a requirement of UK therapists, my work will be discussed with a clinical supervisor, however you will not be identified during this process.

Attachment Theory helps to understand early emotional bonds and their impact on current relationships. The Person-Centred Approach offers a non-judgemental space to explore solutions and personal growth.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and Barbara acknowledges those first steps. She follows the BACP Ethical Guidelines and UK law in her psychotherapy practice. She is required to break confidentiality if she believes there is a significant risk of harm to the client or others, and, as is standard for UK therapists, her work is discussed with a clinical supervisor without identifying the client.
