Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello and welcome! I’m glad you made the decision to seek help. You did the right thing.
My name is Rick Haynes. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience helping people solve life’s problems. I am certain that with time and working together, I can help you as well. Life can be challenging and overwhelming at times making us feel depressed and anxious. Frequently, our mind seems to have a mind of its own, dwelling on worry and indecision. At those times, we suffer emotionally and aren’t at our best either at home or work. Our self-esteem takes a hit, and we feel defeated. By reaching out for help, you have taken the first step toward feeling better.
I believe a trusting therapeutic relationship forms the basis for someone to share thoughts and emotions and change her or his life for the better. Our sessions will provide you a safe place to explore your emotions and solve problems. Our starting point will be where you are now, work at pace you find comfortable, and discover ways for you to take charge and begin to feel better. You may feel stuck today, but with effort you will get unstuck.
I find a combination of interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness exercises, and supportive psychotherapy to be most helpful to clients. In concert, this skill set helps a person change how they think, which changes how they feel and behave. We will set goals and solve problems in this practical hands-on manner. When you are ready, I may ask you to keep a journal of your thoughts. Awareness of your thinking patterns will be essential.
If my experience and approach is what you are searching for, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Clarence "Rick" Haynes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Tennessee with 35 years of professional experience helping people navigate life’s challenges. He approaches therapy with a practical, supportive style, aiming to create a trusting relationship where clients can explore difficult emotions and make meaningful changes.
Rick meets clients where they are and moves at a pace that feels comfortable, focusing on problem-solving and goal-setting to reduce overwhelm and restore functioning at home and work. He has extensive experience addressing stress, anxiety, grief, self-esteem concerns, depression, coping with life changes, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, parenting and career difficulties, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
His work commonly blends cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, and supportive psychotherapy so clients can shift unhelpful thinking patterns, change emotional responses, and modify behavior. Sessions are hands-on and goal-oriented; when appropriate he may suggest keeping a journal to increase awareness of thought patterns, since that awareness often supports lasting change.
Rick believes that feeling stuck is a temporary state that can be overcome through consistent effort and a solid therapeutic alliance. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee, he draws on decades of training and practice to offer steady guidance and practical tools for people ready to begin feeling better.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person treatment. Research and clinical experience indicate that, for these typical issues, virtual sessions often produce outcomes comparable to face-to-face care.
One of the main advantages of online therapy is convenience and flexibility. Clients can choose the mode of communication that works best for them – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule or to receive care from a distance.
Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and individuals may switch therapists if they want a different fit. For many people seeking support with everyday mental health concerns, online therapy provides a practical and accessible option to begin their work toward feeling better.
