Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am credentialed in the UK with 4 years of professional work experience. A member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & coping with grief and loss. I also volunteer as a counsellor at a bereavement service and have experience in a multitude of psychological concerns that my clients may face in such a difficult and personal time. Other areas where I have experience in are ADHD and Autism where clients have felt heard for the first time.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgement. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
My main modality is person-centred therapy where you, the client, is the most important person when we’re together, and is important for me to understand your thoughts and feelings at this time, allowing us to work together towards an outcome of your choosing, or until you feel a more strengthened autonomy which allows you to manage your day-to-day activities more productively. However, I will incorporate elements of other modalities through a variety of strategies and tools to help you manage your current issues to where you feel able to disengage from the therapeutic relationship for as long as you need to, with the option to return to therapy as and when you need it.

Stephen Matthews is credentialed in the United Kingdom and has 3 years of professional experience. He is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and has supported people dealing with stress and anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, and depression.
He also volunteers as a counsellor at a bereavement service and has worked with a range of psychological concerns that can arise during deeply personal and difficult times. He has experience with ADHD and Autism, and notes that some people have felt heard for the first time through that work.
Stephen aims to create an open, safe space where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgement. He works collaboratively with clients, offering person-centred therapy that places the client at the centre of the process and focuses on outcomes the client chooses. Where helpful, he integrates elements from other approaches and practical strategies so clients can manage day-to-day life more productively and step away from therapy when they feel ready, with the option to return as needed.
