Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am qualified counsellor in the UK, I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, confidence and depression.
My approach is interactive and relaxed. I want you as my client to feel relaxed within our sessions, this helps us to focus on you and what you want from therapy and how we can work together.
In counselling young people and students, I am familiar with some of the anxieties stresses that can seem overwhelming.
To gain an understanding of why you are experiencing anxiety, OCD, lack of self belief/confidence, anger, a sense of feeling overwhelmed and why you may be feeling this way. along with techniques to manage can make such a difference.
Experienced in dealing with trauma/anxiety/stress and depression. How this affects our ability to function, making it difficult to control emotions and thoughts. What would be like to know and understand that what you are experiencing is normal?
Feeling disconnected or overwhelmed; feeling low or numb; just not being able function or feeling like you can’t switch off. Using psycho-education to give an understanding of why, to then work on the underlying issues.
Personalising therapy to the individual by integrating various therapeutic skills and tools, along with tools that are effective for stress, depression and feelings of being overwhelmed.
With trauma I will not ask you about the past or the event, we will focus on what it has left you with. Going at your pace, as you are the expert on yourself. Using tools and techniques, together we work on how this is impacting you now.
In addition to private practice I have worked for over five years for a local charity, supporting and counselling individuals for domestic violence, sexual abuse, PTSD and depression.
Our first session would be finding out more about you, how the current issues are affecting you and what impact this is having on your well-being. To explore what you want to gain from counselling and where to start.
Together we can process where you are now, working on where you want to be.

Janis Dreosti is a qualified counsellor practising in the United Kingdom. She has experience supporting people with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-esteem, confidence and depression.
Her sessions are delivered in an interactive and relaxed manner, with the aim that clients feel comfortable so work can focus on what they want from therapy and how to achieve it. She is experienced in counselling young people and students and understands the anxieties and pressures that can feel overwhelming.
Janis aims to help clients understand why they may be experiencing anxiety, OCD, low self-belief or confidence, anger or a sense of being overwhelmed, and to teach practical techniques to manage these difficulties. She has experience working with trauma, anxiety, stress and depression and recognises how these can affect day-to-day functioning, emotions and thinking.
Using psycho-education, she offers explanations about why symptoms arise as a starting point for addressing underlying issues. Therapy is personalised by integrating a range of therapeutic skills and tools that are effective for stress, depression and feelings of being overwhelmed.
When working with trauma, Janis does not ask clients to recount the past event; instead she focuses on the impact the experience has left behind and works at the client’s pace, acknowledging that each person is the expert on themselves. In addition to private practice, she has worked for over five years for a local charity supporting and counselling individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual abuse, PTSD and depression.
The first session is used to learn more about the client, how current issues are affecting their well-being and what they hope to gain from counselling, so that together they can plan the best place to start and work towards where the client wants to be.
