Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Are you feeling anxious, depressed, or stressed?
Struggling with self-doubt, people-pleasing, or relationship issues?
Life throws many challenges at us, and it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. You don’t have to struggle alone. If you’re reading this, you’re already thinking that things could be better.
Each of us has the capacity for change and self-understanding when we are provided with a safe, non-judgemental and empathic environment. Person-centered therapy offers a collaborative and empowering approach for self-awareness and personal growth.
Together we will build a space built on trust, respect, and compassion, where you can feel free to really be yourself. Therapy can help provide insight, clarity, and self-acceptance. I’ll support you in uncovering your strengths, values, and inner resources to engage in life’s challenges with confidence and authenticity.
I’ve studied psychology for 10 years, which allows me to integrate person-centred counselling, consumer psychology, and mindfulness. This provides a unique perspective on modern life’s impacts and effective strategies for managing its many challenges.
I studied for three years at the Bangor Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, which provided rich insight into MBCT and MBSR. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to mindfulness, we can tailor our sessions to your preferences. Let me know your level of interest, and together, we’ll explore how to incorporate mindfulness into our work.
Choosing a therapist can be daunting experience, so well done for starting your search. If you are reading this and have the sense there is something you want to change about your life then I would love to hear from you.

David O’Hara works with people who are feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed by stress, and with those struggling with self-doubt, people-pleasing or relationship difficulties.
He believes that everyone has the capacity for change and greater self-understanding when offered a safe, non-judgemental and empathic therapeutic environment. He uses a person-centred approach that aims to be collaborative and empowering, helping clients increase self-awareness and personal growth.
In therapy he aims to create a space built on trust, respect and compassion where people can feel free to be themselves. He supports clients in gaining insight, finding clarity and developing self-acceptance, and he works to help them uncover strengths, values and internal resources to face life’s challenges with more confidence and authenticity.
Drawing on a decade of study in psychology, David integrates person-centred counselling with consumer psychology and mindfulness to offer a perspective on modern life and practical strategies for managing its demands. He completed three years of study at the Bangor Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, which informed his work with MBCT and MBSR. Whether someone has practiced mindfulness before or is new to it, he can tailor sessions to match their level of interest and preference.
David understands that choosing a therapist can feel daunting and welcomes contact from anyone who senses there is something they want to change in their life.

For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in the way that suits them best – through video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and it is possible to change therapists if someone feels a different fit would be better for their needs.
