Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hi and thank you for looking at my profile. I began my career as a befriender working with clients who had a range of issues as a result of the troubles in NI including; stress, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, domestic/sexual abuse, other. Working with these clients their fortitude inspired me to commence my career as a counsellor .
My training was in Carl Rodger Person Centered, whose core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard remain at the heart of all my work, however, this approach did not suit the work I needed to do with clients and as a result a lot of my work involves the cognitive behavioural model, but I use other modalities as needed to meet the needs of my clients.
During my 22 year career I have worked as an addictions counsellor for 10 years, 4 of these in a local prison. My experience includes work with concerns including; panic attacks, depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, domestic/sexual abuse, stress, trauma,/PTSD, bereavement, anger management, domestic violence male/female., ex-prisioners, other.
During the last ten years I have trained in Reiki, Sound Healing, Reflexology, and Indian Head Massage and continue to explore healing modalites that are of benefit to clients overall wellbeing.
I look forward to working with you.

Angela Higgins began her helping work as a befriender supporting people affected by the troubles in NI, assisting those experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia and survivors of domestic or sexual abuse. That early work inspired her to train as a counsellor.
Her formal training was in the person-centred approach developed by Carl Rogers, and the core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard remain central to her practice. Where specific therapeutic tasks are required she frequently draws on the cognitive behavioural model, and she integrates other modalities as needed to meet each client’s circumstances.
Across a 25-year career she has specialised in addictions work for ten years, including four years in a local prison. Her experience covers a wide range of concerns such as panic attacks, depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, domestic and sexual abuse, stress, trauma and PTSD, bereavement, anger management, domestic violence affecting men and women, and work with ex-prisoners.
Over the past ten years Angela has trained in complementary healing practices including Reiki, sound healing, reflexology and Indian head massage, and she continues to explore approaches that support clients’ overall wellbeing. She looks forward to working with you.
Many people ask whether counselling delivered online can truly help. For common difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems or coping with life changes, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional face-to-face work.
One major benefit is the flexibility it offers – clients can choose the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit regular sessions into busy lives.
Therapists providing online sessions are licensed professionals, and if someone feels a different match would be better they can switch to another therapist at any time. Online therapy can therefore offer an effective, adaptable route to support when dealing with everyday mental health and relationship challenges.
