Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
ABOUT ME
Hello, I am Mariel Moore. I’m a licensed LPC, License Practical Counselor in the state of Alabama. I am so happy that you are reading about me. I have been in the counseling field for over ten years. I have worked with independent agencies doing substance abuse counseling. The substance abuse counseling was inpatient and outpatient. I am presently in private practice. I work with children, teenagers, and family units. I graduated from Amridge University with a PhD. in Family Therapy in 2016.
My primary therapy orientation is personal-centered as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe in a personal center approach and utilizing positive regard for all clients. I like to use a cooperative approach with the clients. I love for the client to set goals and objectives for future progress. I desire all the therapy sessions to be authentic and balanced. I incorporate great listening skills and empathy. I work with my client to maintain progress from session to session.
I understand each client is different and has their own personality. I utilize individual treatment plans for each client. I gather new materials from research to make every session new for each client.
I worked with children, teenagers, and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Grief, and other childhood disorders. I also work with local physicians’ offices with some patients managing terminal illnesses. I utilize the integrated approach with medicine and counseling to help the client and their families adjust to their present reality.
I have also worked with clients involving some career path, self-esteem building, coping skills, team-building skills, and transitions in everyday issues that have some stuck.
My passion and goals are to help clients find their authentic self and to improve their relationship with self and others to find peace and a deeper appreciation of self. With children and under adults I work with the family system as I believe that if one family member is impacted, all the members are impacted in certain ways.

Dr. Mariel Moore is a licensed professional counselor in Alabama, holding the designation AL LPC 3840. She earned a PhD in Family Therapy from Amridge University in 2016 and brings eight years of clinical experience to her private practice, where she works with children, teenagers, and family units. Earlier in her career she provided both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse counseling with independent agencies.
Her primary therapeutic approach blends person-centered care with cognitive behavioral techniques, emphasizing empathy, attentive listening, and a cooperative relationship with each client. She encourages clients to set meaningful goals and works to keep sessions authentic, balanced, and focused on measurable progress from one meeting to the next.
Dr. Moore creates individualized treatment plans informed by current research so that each session addresses the unique needs and personality of the person or family she is supporting. She applies an integrated approach when appropriate, collaborating with local physicians to assist clients and their families in adjusting to medical challenges, including management of terminal illnesses.
Her clinical experience covers depression, anxiety, ADHD, conduct and adjustment disorders, grief, trauma and abuse, and a range of childhood disorders. She also supports clients with career transitions, self-esteem work, coping skills, team-building, parenting concerns, bipolar disorder, compassion fatigue, and LGBT relationship issues. With children and teenagers she frequently engages the family system, believing that changes in one family member affect the whole unit. Dr. Moore aims to help clients discover their authentic selves and strengthen relationships with themselves and others to foster greater peace and self-appreciation.
Many people wonder whether counseling delivered online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or coping with life transitions, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage of remote therapy is flexibility – individuals can connect in the format that best fits their needs, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule or to access support from a preferred setting.
These services are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients have the option to change providers if they feel another clinician would be a better fit. For many people facing common mental health and life challenges, online therapy offers an accessible, practical way to pursue consistent therapeutic support.
