Yana Valcheva

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a fully qualified counsellor and the way I work is mostly guided by my clients. I love using creativity and tuning into the wisdom of the body.

Counselling sessions with me offer an opportunity to talk, share and discover a way of being with yourself as a friend.
I would love to offer you support to tap into your own resources and discover new ways of overcoming difficulties and to find confidence in yourself.

I offer counselling to adults and young people incorporating a range of creative techniques ..
I have experience supporting young clients with issues such as:

anxiety,
pregnancy and child loss
infertility
depression,
bereavement,
self-harm,
eating disorders,
I have been on a journey of self-discovery since I can remember. My initial training is in fine art and theatre and along my journey of self-exploration and creative expression, I have been working as a holistic therapist and meditation teacher since 2001 in Bulgaria, India, France, and the UK.

My fascination with the wisdom of the body has led me to train in various body-based practices: dance, yoga, active meditation, bioenergetics, and massage.

In my work as a therapist, I have discovered that trusting the felt sense of the body, our ability to feel, explore and stay connected to ourselves can be a powerful helper in resolving issues, make decisions and feel safe and grounded in our lives.

Playful creativity: Creativity is our essence, although it is often deeply buried or feared. Creative expression can be a wonderful way to express meanings and feelings that just don’t fit into words. It can be a great opportunity to release tension and gain insights from symbolic images that emerge from our inner world.

Although often associated with children counselling art and play can be a powerful healing tool for adults too.

Women’s work:

Since the birth of my son, I started learning about the womb and the lower belly. Inspired by my own journey through pregnancy and motherhood, I have focused my work around supporting women with their fertility journey; both during pregnancy as a doula, and postnatally.

I offer women circles and abdominal massage and self-massage as a powerful tool for women to gain a better understanding and connection to themselves and their feminine power.

Talking and creative expression could be helpful when overcoming traumatic experiences linked to the womb. (abuse, pregnancy loss, fibroids, child loss, irregular periods, infertility, endometriosis and other conditions linked to pelvic congestion)

She has experience supporting young clients with anxiety, pregnancy and child loss, infertility, depression, bereavement, self-harm and eating disorders. Her initial training is in fine art and theatre, and she has been on a personal journey of self-discovery for many years. Since 2001 she has worked as a holistic therapist and meditation teacher in Bulgaria, India, France and the UK.

Yana holds a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and an MA in Fine Arts. Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes – online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose the form of contact that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life. Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and clients can change therapists if they would prefer a different fit. For many people, the combination of evidence of effectiveness and practical convenience makes online therapy a practical option to consider.
