Uzma Ahmad is a nationally certified counselor licensed to practice in two states, holding an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor credential (OR LPC C6885) and a Washington Mental Health Counselor license (WA LMHC LH60860946). She brings 25 years of professional experience to her work, including time teaching psychology at the university level.
Her approach is strength-based, focused on helping people identify and use their existing resources while developing new skills to manage life’s challenges. She has worked with individuals facing stress and anxiety, grief, relationship concerns, parenting difficulties, interpersonal conflicts, cultural and generational issues, trauma and abuse, and sexual abuse.
Uzma prioritizes building a collaborative, respectful therapeutic relationship and strives to create an open, safe space where thoughts and feelings can be expressed without judgment. She views beginning therapy as an act of self-care that often requires courage, and she offers support and empowerment throughout that process.
Uzma is a female therapist of color and an experienced clinician based in Washington.
