Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a cognitive-behavioral psychologist & have focused my work on helping children, adults & older adults to develop skills to manage emotional, behavioral & health problems. These include problems related to attention, learning, pain, chronic health, insecurity and relationships with others. Because of my background in language & development, I see many of such issues as deriving from “over-thinking” or reflection & self-talk. Such a nature may lead to frustrations with results of current counseling & medication. As a pharmacologist, I also have experience studying effects of physical state & medications for physical illness on mood, behavior & emotions. With such a background, I may help people separate such effects from concerns for their psychological well-being & to identify things they may do to minimize those effects. Finally, I am myself an outdoorsman, exerciser, marathoner who loves dogs, cats & horses and writes parables about them. I have supported each of those & related activities in experiential therapy programs to address the problems above. I have also counseled others in identifying alternatives when life circumstances or injuries leads to the loss of the chance to use those skills you have developed to manage your life. Dr. Thomas Tashjian is a cognitive-behavioral psychologist practicing in Massachusetts with 33 years of clinical experience. He helps children, adults, and older adults build practical skills to manage emotional, behavioral, and health-related problems, including difficulties with attention and learning, chronic pain and health conditions, insecurity, and interpersonal relationships.
With a background in language and development, Dr. Tashjian often frames many of these concerns as arising from over-thinking, reflection, and internal self-talk – patterns that can make therapy or medication feel less effective than expected. He also brings experience as a pharmacologist, having studied how physical condition and medications for medical illness can affect mood, behavior, and emotions. That combination of perspectives allows him to help people distinguish medication- or health-related effects from psychological concerns and to identify steps that may reduce those impacts.
Outside of clinical work he is an outdoorsman, regular exerciser, and marathoner who loves dogs, cats, and horses and writes short parables about them. He has incorporated those interests into experiential therapy programs that address the issues above, and he has supported people in finding alternative ways to cope when life events or injuries reduce their ability to use familiar skills. More about his professional background and some of his stories can be found at https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomas-tashjian-a96517107/.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care. This approach can work well for people seeking support for these everyday mental health issues.
One major advantage is flexibility – you can meet with a therapist in the format that best fits your schedule and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility can make it easier to maintain consistent treatment alongside work, family, and other obligations.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and it is possible to switch therapists if you need a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers a convenient, effective way to get help for common emotional and life challenges while keeping their care aligned with personal needs.
