My approach consists of being an active listener, and when appropriate, I will encourage reflective thinking to guide you to understand yourself and your thoughts. I am an advocate for healthy and positive thinking: we all have it within ourselves (no matter where we are in life) to bridge the gap that you are looking for, and my part is to facilitate you to be that bridge. Everyone has their own beliefs, ideas, opinions and thoughts that generates a unique profile that should be met with understanding and sensitivity.

Stephen Peterson is a Clinical Counsellor registered with PACFA and works with people experiencing stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, parenting concerns, self-esteem difficulties, depression, family issues and anger management. He brings a practical, empathetic approach to therapy and aims to create a respectful environment where each person’s perspective is met with sensitivity.
He practices active listening and, when appropriate, encourages reflective thinking to help clients explore their thoughts and patterns. Stephen advocates for healthier, more positive ways of thinking and supports clients to identify and use the resources they already have to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
Stephen sees his role as a facilitator – guiding and empowering people to become the bridge to their own change. He attends to individual beliefs, ideas and opinions and works with each person’s unique profile with understanding and care.
