My name is Stephanie Harnish and I am a License Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York State. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with experience working with adult and children. My experience is in providing trauma -informed, trauma focused therapy. I have been providing therapy for the last 10+ years, primary in outpatient mental health programs focused on person-centered recovery. I also have experience in private practice.
My nonjudgmental and accepting personality allows an ability to promote and develop a positive therapeutic alliance with the individual I am working with, for an effective therapeutic relationship. I focus on motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy to provide assistance to individuals in overcoming past traumatic experiences that are affecting current individual functioning, for the purpose of promoting positive change and recovery.
