Sherri Salmon welcomes individuals who have taken the important step of seeking professional, compassionate, and caring counsel. She offers an attentive, nonjudgmental ear and places value on helping people feel truly heard.
She is licensed to practice professional counseling in New Jersey and also holds licensure in Illinois. With more than 30 years of experience, Sherri has worked with a wide age range of clients, from 10 through 80, and maintains a broad base of clinical experience across the lifespan. She frequently supports teenagers, young adults, women, and people coping with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, abuse, neglect, abandonment, resentment, spirituality and religion concerns, LGBTQ matters, and family issues.
Her therapeutic work draws on Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She emphasizes practical tools and cognitive reframing to help clients reprocess life challenges, rewrite their life scripts, and navigate daily living more effectively so they can move toward becoming their better selves.
Sherri believes that clients are the experts of their own stories and that they bring strengths that support healing and change. She recognizes the courage it takes to begin therapy and is committed to supporting clients through that process.
Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the primary benefits of remote therapy is flexibility. Clients can choose the communication method that suits them best - video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it simpler to integrate care into a busy schedule.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they seek a different fit. This model can make mental health support more accessible while keeping the same core therapeutic goals as in-person work.
