Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Dear potential client (s)
My name is Sherri and I am a licensed marriage family therapist and life coach in California.
I offer psychotherapy and life coaching to individuals grappling with some of life’s more challenging transitions. Whether you are experiencing grief from the loss of a significant loved one, the end of the a significant relationship, or have a broken heart, I am here to be a calm presence during turbulent times. Perhaps you are experiencing a cycle of stops and starts, but have been unable to access a sense of inner calm. Or you have experienced repetitive patterns of loneliness, an inability to decipher your life’s purpose, or you struggle to form and/or maintain intimate partnerships.
I work with individuals in order to improve self confidence and live more authentic lives, resolve relationship conflicts, and process early relational wounding and trauma in order to resolve faulty belief systems and address unconscious patterns. I work primarily from an attachment based understanding of human development that seeks to reclaim aspects of the self that were left by the wayside in order to adapt to early conditioning, often related to cultural norms, rigid gender conditioning, and outdated social expectations. I offer a depth of tools designed to help you reconnect with your core sense of self, and heal early relational wounding that have shaped your belief systems and sense of worthiness in the world. In addition to 6 + years of clinical experience, I have earned the highest level of education in my field. Additionally, I have committed myself to a decade if spiritual practice, which has given me the ability to see through entrenched defense systems and patterns, and has helped me to develop a deep sense of empathy and attunement to the unconscious whispers of the soul. I offer a highbred approach to psychotherapy that often includes life-coaching. I conceptualize my role as akin to the Irish concept of “soul friend” a Celtic concept that emphasizes the importance of having someone that acts as a confidant that connects and understands you at the deepest level. Thus, I believe in treating others with respect, sensitively and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific goals. I understand, from my own experience, that taking the first step towards a more fulfilling life often takes courage and I am here to support you in that process.

Sherri Kardell is a licensed marriage and family therapist and life coach in California (CA LMFT 113970) with 7 years of clinical experience. She is a female, older, non-religious, liberal therapist who offers psychotherapy and coaching to individuals navigating difficult life transitions.
Sherri works with people coping with grief after the loss of a significant loved one, the end of an important relationship, or the experience of a broken heart. She supports clients who feel stuck in cycles of stops and starts, who seek a greater sense of inner calm, or who notice repetitive patterns of loneliness, difficulty defining life purpose, or trouble forming and maintaining intimate partnerships.
Her work focuses on strengthening self-confidence and helping clients live more authentic lives, resolving relationship conflicts, and processing early relational wounding and trauma so faulty beliefs and unconscious patterns can shift. She primarily uses an attachment-based understanding of human development that aims to reclaim parts of the self that were set aside to adapt to early conditioning – often tied to cultural norms, rigid gender expectations, and outdated social standards. Sherri offers a range of tools to help people reconnect with their core sense of self and address the relational wounds that have shaped beliefs about worthiness.
In addition to seven years of practice, Sherri has earned the highest level of education in her field and has committed to a decade of spiritual practice, which she says has deepened her empathy and attunement to subtle, unconscious signals. She uses a hybrid approach to psychotherapy that often includes life coaching and likens her role to the Celtic concept of a “soul friend” – someone who acts as a confidant and understands you at a deep level. She tailors conversations and treatment plans to each person’s specific goals, and she acknowledges that taking a first step toward change often requires courage – she is available to support that process.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to provide outcomes comparable to traditional in-person care. It can be an effective option for people seeking help with these everyday mental health challenges.
One of the clearest benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in whichever format feels most comfortable – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy offers a practical, accessible way to begin or continue therapeutic work without giving up quality of care.
