Is something keeping you up at night or you are unable to focus at home and/or work/school? There is a chance that you may need to speak to someone and I may be that someone you need to speak with.
My name is Shalika Eaddy-Henderson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have been working in the field for about 8 years and have worked with several populations (homeless, substance abuse, children, adolescence and adults). I started a non-traditional path where I received my first Master’s degree in Public Administration while working for a bank. While this may not seem like it is the best path to eventually obtain a Master’s degree in Social Work, it helped me tremendously. I gained an appreciation for some of the things an individual may go through which can lead to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, etc. Working at a bank is the reason why I chose the career path of being a Social Worker, to be able to help others manage the stressors of life.
My approach to therapy is to meet the client where they are in a prompt and appropriate manner. I like to begin my sessions with how your week, day or last hour has been and then move into the therapeutic process. However, it will be totally up to you how you would like to begin the process as THERAPY IS FOR YOU!
I attended the University of New Haven (CT) for my Master’s in Public Administration and Fordham University (NY) for my Master’s in Social Work and have enjoyed every bit of the transition from being employed with a bank to engaging in the therapeutic process with individuals. Additionally, I am close to completing my Doctorate in Social Work at Capella University.
It will be a pleasure working with you when and if you are ready!

If sleepless nights or difficulty concentrating at home, school, or work are affecting daily life, talking with a trained professional can help, and Shalika Eaddy-Henderson may be that resource. She offers an approachable, practical style aimed at helping people manage the stressors that interfere with sleep, focus, and overall well-being.
Shalika Eaddy-Henderson is a licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina with 10 years of experience working across a range of populations, including people experiencing homelessness, those with substance use concerns, children, adolescents, and adults. Her career began along a nontraditional path: she earned a first master’s degree in Public Administration while employed at a bank. That early experience shaped her understanding of the pressures that can contribute to depression, anxiety, and substance use, and ultimately inspired her to pursue social work.
She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Haven and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, and she is close to completing a Doctorate in Social Work at Capella University. Those academic steps accompanied a steady clinical focus on helping people cope with life’s challenges and regain balance.
In session, Shalika meets clients where they are and begins by checking in about how the week, day, or even the last hour has been before moving into the therapeutic process. She tailors each session to the client’s preferences and priorities, respecting that therapy is for the individual receiving it.
She looks forward to working with people when and if they are ready to begin.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, research indicates that online therapy is comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is convenience and flexibility. Individuals can connect with their therapist in the format that works best for them – video calls, phone conversations, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit care into a busy schedule.
Therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists whenever they feel a different match would be more helpful. For many people, virtual therapy offers an accessible way to address everyday mental health concerns and relationship challenges while maintaining continuity of care.
