Hi, I am Ruth Darby, a person-centred therapist in the UK with many years of professional work experience. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a compassionate therapist, providing you with a safe space to navigate your journey with resilience and self- compassion. I am ready to work with you in a collaborative therapeutic relationship where you will start on your journey, sharing what you feel comfortable to share and ultimately to finding inner peace enabling you to be the best version of yourself. As a mature therapist, I have lived experience of many issues that I have navigated on my own personal journey to finding peace.
I have experience in helping clients with anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship issues and estrangement, family conflicts, stress and life transitions, trauma and abuse. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process using an integrative approach, employing the use of different modalities such as Person- Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-Informed Practice, Transactional Analysis and Mindfulness, for your successful healing journey. My belief is that with a genuine, supportive, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, you can feel heard and valued.

Ruth Darby is a person-centred therapist based in the United Kingdom and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She offers a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore difficult feelings and work toward greater resilience and self-compassion.
With three years of clinical experience, Ruth works collaboratively with each person, allowing them to share at their own pace and to build the inner resources needed for change. As a mature therapist, she draws on her own lived experience of navigating personal challenges to inform a warm and empathetic approach.
Ruth has experience supporting people with anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties and estrangement, family conflict, stress and life transitions, trauma and abuse. She uses an integrative approach that blends Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Practice, Transactional Analysis and Mindfulness to support each individual’s healing process.
