Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome! Whatever events brought you here, you are in a safe place of confidentiality and help. This is a space for you to explore the issues and concern you have in your life and to come to some resolutions and direction. I am a seasoned professional with over 20 years’ experience, however, I do not take myself too seriously and I like to have fun in therapy while maintaining focus on the issues you present. I have a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, a post Master’s Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
I am trained in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Humanistic-Existentialism. I draw from these and other modalities according to your needs and preferences. My work experience includes working with young adults and adults. I have worked with adults involved in the justice system, those with addiction, and mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety. I have a background as an instructor at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Our sessions can be through whichever method makes you feel most comfortable. I find it helpful to use video sessions for at least some of the sessions, but if you would prefer to only chat that is just fine too.
I welcome all clients of the LGBTQ+ community as I am an ally. I work with those in the LGBTQ+ community as well as parents of LGBTQ+ who are struggling.
Outside of being a clinician, I am an Ironman Triathlete.
I look forward to helping you!

Dr. Russell Gaede offers a welcoming and confidential setting where people can explore the events that brought them to therapy and work toward clearer direction and practical resolutions. With 25 years of clinical experience, he combines seasoned judgment with a relaxed, occasionally playful style that keeps sessions focused while easing the strain therapy can sometimes bring.
He holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, a post-master’s certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He is licensed as a clinical mental health counselor in Utah (license number 268792-6004). His training includes Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Humanistic-Existential approaches, and he integrates these methods according to each client’s needs and preferences.
Dr. Gaede’s clinical background includes work with young adults and adults, people involved with the justice system, and individuals facing addiction or common mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety. He has also served as an instructor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Sessions can be scheduled in the format that feels most comfortable to the client; he finds video helpful for at least some meetings but will accommodate those who prefer chat-only communication. As an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, he welcomes clients from that community as well as parents who are navigating related challenges.
Outside his clinical role, Dr. Gaede is an Ironman triathlete. He looks forward to helping clients identify goals and take practical steps toward the changes they seek.
Many people wonder whether virtual sessions truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship troubles, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy often delivers outcomes comparable to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is convenience. Clients can choose the communication style that fits their life and comfort level – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to maintain regular appointments.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different match would be better. Online work can provide an adaptable and effective way to address everyday mental health needs while fitting into busy schedules.
