Ross Thompson is a Texas-licensed marriage and family therapist who has practiced since 2008 and brings 17 years of clinical experience to his work. He approaches therapy from a client-centered perspective, building a cooperative and respectful relationship that helps clients identify needs, set goals, and track progress over time.
Ross draws from several evidence-informed methods to tailor treatment to each person’s current situation, including cognitive behavioral techniques, collaborative models, narrative approaches, and solution-focused strategies. He also emphasizes a holistic view of mind and body, incorporating mindfulness and attention to physical health when those elements support longer lasting change.
Over his career he has worked with people reporting a wide range of concerns, such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, self-esteem challenges, addictions, LGBT matters, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, eating and sleeping disorders, anger management, career difficulties, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, and ADHD. He holds a master’s degree and has completed Ph.D.-level coursework in marriage and family therapy.
Ross prioritizes not only achieving immediate goals but also helping clients develop stability and skills that endure beyond counseling, so they can recognize strengths and respond to future challenges independently. He looks forward to the possibility of working together.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to maintain consistent care.
Licensed professionals provide online services, and clients may switch therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many individuals facing everyday mental health and relationship concerns, virtual therapy offers an effective and convenient option.
