Rosemary Cabanillas

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a bilingual, bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been working in the NYC area for 13 years and counting. I have much experience working with diverse populations. Because I have been working with diverse populations in many different neighborhoods in NYC, I feel that I am culturally competent and bring acceptance and openness to treatment. I also feel that I have been able to work with a wide array of clients and presenting issues and diagnoses. I really enjoy working with clients who are working through issues of depression, anxiety, difficulty with a change in employment or career, in addition to helping to build confidence and self-esteem. I enjoy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. I feel that many clients are looking for ways to resolve or ameliorate some of the symptoms they are going through at the time, and I enjoy helping clients find those solutions. Realizing that you are open to the helping process is a huge step. Congrats! I look forward to working with you!

About

She is a bilingual, bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the New York City area, with 13 years of experience. As a licensed clinician she has advanced training to provide clinical assessment and psychotherapy, and brings that background to work with individuals across the city.

Having worked with diverse populations in many different NYC neighborhoods, she emphasizes cultural competence and approaches treatment with acceptance and openness. That experience has enabled her to work with a wide array of clients and a range of presenting issues and diagnoses.

She enjoys supporting people who are coping with depression and anxiety, those navigating a change in employment or career, and individuals seeking to build confidence and self-esteem. Her preferred approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which helps identify and shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, which concentrates on practical, goal-oriented steps to reduce symptoms.

She believes many people are looking for concrete ways to resolve or lessen the difficulties they are experiencing, and she takes satisfaction in helping them find those solutions. She recognizes that being open to the helping process is a significant step and congratulates anyone who takes it, and she looks forward to working with those ready to begin.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether therapy delivered remotely can truly help. For everyday concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A key benefit is the flexibility it offers. You can meet with a therapist in the format that suits you best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it simpler to fit support into a busy schedule and to engage in the way that feels most comfortable. All therapists are licensed professionals, and if the fit isn’t right you can change providers at any time to find someone who better matches your needs.
