Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My approach is pluralistic, which means that I use a mix of different psychological approaches, dependent on what makes sense to you the client, and the issue you want to explore. The therapy sessions are led by you and the material you are exploring, so you set the goal , and you agree on any tasks that will help you get closer to that goal. I know the psychological landscape and I’ll be helping you explore the issues, gain insight, and achieve healing, or whatever that goal is.
Besides your goals, I will have two of my own. One is to provide you with a safe, confidential space, where you feel accepted and free to talk about whatever brought you to counselling. The second, is for me the true goal of counselling, to help you get to the place where you don’t need the counselling any more.
I have particular interests in PTSD, and also the impact that Narcissistic Personalities have on those around them. I lived with PTSD for many years in my previous career, and have experienced a few narcissists. I now enjoy helping people to heal from the effects of narcissistic abuse in their life and I have additional training in this area. My own life experience includes a 30 year career in the police, which has left me with a strong desire to help members of the emergency services, as well as service personnel, be they serving or retired. I have a deep respect for those who choose to serve.
I would highly recommend counselling, be it with me, or someone else. Having a space that is yours, where you are the important person, where you get to talk your stuff out, is just wonderful. You don’t get that anywhere else in life.

Richard Evans works from a pluralistic perspective, drawing on a mix of psychological approaches chosen to suit the individual and the issue they wish to address. Therapy sessions are client-led, with the person attending setting the goals and agreeing any tasks that will help move them toward those aims. Richard guides the exploration, offering his knowledge of the psychological landscape to help clients gain insight and progress toward healing or whatever outcome they seek.
Alongside the goals a client brings, Richard carries two objectives into every therapeutic relationship. He aims to provide a safe, confidential space where a person feels accepted and able to speak about what brought them to counselling. His second objective is to support clients toward a point where they no longer need counselling.
Richard has particular clinical interests in post-traumatic stress disorder and the effects of narcissistic personalities on those close to them. He lived with PTSD for many years in his previous career and has personal experience of encountering narcissistic individuals. He has additional training in supporting people to heal from narcissistic abuse and now finds it rewarding to help others recover from those effects.
Richard’s own background includes a 30-year career in the police, which has fostered a strong commitment to supporting members of the emergency services as well as service personnel, whether serving or retired. He holds a deep respect for those who choose to serve and actively seeks to help them where he can.
He recommends counselling in general, whether a person chooses to work with him or with another therapist. Richard has 3 years of experience and practises in the United Kingdom.
Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and adapting to life changes – online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is the flexibility it offers. Individuals can connect in the format that suits them best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit regular sessions into a busy life.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they are seeking a different fit. Online therapy provides multiple ways to access professional support while maintaining the core elements of effective therapeutic work.
