Richard Broach

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

After more than 20 years in the counseling fields as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin, my approach to collaborating with clients has a two-fold approach. First, I believe in a holistic approach. Almost every problem we experience has various pieces. Somewhat like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, the pieces need to be laid out and evaluated to see the relationships among them to come up with solutions. This includes the present moment, our upbringing, our current employment, our own relationships, stresses past and present, any traumatic experiences we’ve had, etc. My second approach flows from the first belief in a holistic treatment. I encourage clients to develop a SANE lifestyle. Evidenced research shows a direct link among the elements of Sleep, Activities, Nutrition, and Exercise to our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I embody what I encourage others to do. I also believe the path to wholeness lies within each of us and through the experience of heartfelt conversations we find that power within to bring about our own healing.

About

Richard Broach is a Wisconsin-based therapist with 25 years of experience working as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. He focuses on helping people manage stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, low self-esteem, depression, and challenges related to LGBTQ identity and life transitions.

His work is grounded in a holistic view of mental health. He likens problems to the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle – each issue is one part of a larger picture. By examining how present circumstances, upbringing, work, relationships, past and current stresses, and any traumatic experiences fit together, he helps clients see the connections among those pieces and identify practical solutions.

Richard also encourages a SANE lifestyle as part of treatment – emphasizing the importance of sleep, meaningful activities, good nutrition, and regular exercise, based on research that links these elements to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. He models these habits in his own life and invites clients to develop routines that support resilience and recovery.

He believes the path to wholeness resides within each person, and that sincere, empathetic conversations can help unlock that inner capacity for healing. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, he holds state credentialing to provide psychotherapy, and his training as a psychiatric nurse practitioner complements this approach by informing clinical assessment and care from a nursing perspective.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether therapy delivered online can truly help. For common concerns—stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes—research indicates that virtual therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility. You can connect with a therapist in the way that suits you best, whether that is via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That range of options makes it easier to schedule care around work, family, and other commitments. All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if you feel you need a different match you can switch at any time to find the best fit for your needs.
