Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Greetings! I’m Rebecca, a licensed psychologist with more than 5 years experience in private practice and 10 years experience providing counseling. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, legal problems, and personality disorders. I also helped many people who have experienced physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse. My practice is quite diverse, as I enjoy learning and growing in different areas of psychology.
My approach to therapy incorporates various theoretical orientations, but with underlying Rogerian principles of client centered treatment. What does that mean? Rogers highlighted the therapeutic relationship as a fundamental key to therapy. Values include empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence/authenticity. Therefore, initially in therapy I strive to get to know you, the client. Moreover, I want to learn about your goals for therapy, and how we can collaboratively reach those goals. Based on your goals, I incorporate applicable theoretical orientations such as cognitive behavioral therapy, which explores the way one’s thoughts and feelings impact their behavior; or a similar approach, rational emotive therapy, which identifies self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenges the rationality of those feelings, and replaces them with healthier, more productive beliefs. I also support behavioral activation, which involves the client regularly scheduling prosocial, enjoyable activities that facilitate coping and improve mood. Our work together will involve both sessions and some homework for you to complete between sessions.
I look forward to working together!

Dr. Rebecca Flegner is a licensed psychologist based in Wisconsin who brings three years of clinical experience to her work with individuals facing a variety of emotional and relational challenges. She has supported people coping with stress, anxiety, grief, anger, depression, compassion fatigue, issues related to sexual orientation and identity, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy concerns, self-esteem difficulties, bipolar disorder, and major life changes.
Her practice is intentionally broad; she values ongoing learning and adapts her approach to fit each person’s needs. Dr. Flegner draws from client-centered, Rogerian principles that emphasize empathy, genuine presence, and unconditional positive regard as the foundation of therapeutic change.
Within that collaborative, relationship-focused framework she integrates evidence-informed methods such as cognitive behavioral techniques to explore how thoughts and feelings shape behavior, rational emotive approaches to identify and reframe self-defeating beliefs, and behavioral activation to encourage scheduling rewarding activities that support mood and coping. Therapy typically combines in-session work with practical exercises or between-session tasks to reinforce progress.
Dr. Flegner holds a Wisconsin state psychologist license (WI Psychologist 3290-57) and provides care with a professional, approachable style aimed at helping clients clarify goals and work together toward meaningful change.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions – online therapy can be an effective option and has been shown to offer outcomes comparable to traditional in-person care. It is well suited for people seeking support with everyday emotional challenges and changes.
One of the main benefits is flexibility. Clients can choose the mode of connection that fits their schedule and comfort level, including video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. That range of options makes it easier to maintain continuity of care while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities.
Another advantage is access to licensed professionals. Therapists offering online services are credentialed practitioners, and if someone feels they need a different clinician they can switch to another therapist. This combination of proven effectiveness, practical convenience, and access to qualified providers makes online therapy a viable path for many people seeking mental health support.
