Using a strength-based, trauma informed approach to counseling, she works with clients to find and master skills that can help to facilitate change and improve overall well being and health.
Rachel believes building relationships is that the most important indicator of success in therapy. She focuses on ensuring that each client feels heard and respected, while working to build a foundation of trust, and believes that everyone brings their own story and experiences to the client/therapist relationship. Rachel’s approach is collaborative, providing guidance while gently challenging clients, when therapeutically necessary.
Rachel possesses a Bachelor’ s degree from the University of Maryland in Family Studies and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Certified (LCSW-C), Rachel works with a wide variety of clients in different settings, such as schools, hospitals, and private practice. Her experience includes working with young adults with mental illness, or co-occurring disorders. Her expertise includes relationship issues, personal development, depression and anxiety issues, trauma, autism, attention issues and executive functioning, Rachel is a passionate therapist who believes that therapy should be a positive experience for each individual while motivating positive change and a more fulfilling life.
