Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and hold active licenses in California, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota. I have more than 30 years of experience helping people in a variety of settings, from Employee Assistance (EAP) to Outpatient Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol. In addition to my counseling experience, I have been a clinical supervisor and trainer of therapists. I am also a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist.
Congratulations for taking this brave first step to find support, and to make positive changes in your life! I offer individual counseling for adults, 21 and up, who live in California, Pennsylvania, or North Dakota. I have a supportive, conversational style. We will start wherever you “are” in your life. I see my role as a guide who will help you consider your choices, to examine the consequences of changing versus not changing behaviors or circumstances, to set meaningful goals, and to support your decisions.
In uncertain, stressful times, it is easy to get overwhelmed and “stuck,” but I believe there is always “the one thing” a person can do to take meaningful action. While I agree that knowing “why” we behave in certain ways can be useful, I do feel that people seek out counseling to “move beyond.” I believe that YOU are the expert on you, and I will encourage you to take the next steps to improve your life.

Peter Jastermsky is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 35 years of experience across Employee Assistance programs, outpatient mental health services, and drug and alcohol treatment settings. He has worked as a clinician, provided clinical supervision, and trained other therapists, and he is a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist.
He holds active licenses to practice clinical social work in California, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota, and he offers individual counseling to adults aged 21 and older who reside in those states. His style is supportive and conversational, beginning where each person is in their life and working collaboratively to explore options.
Peter approaches therapy as a guide who helps clients weigh the consequences of changing versus remaining the same, set meaningful goals, and follow through on decisions. In uncertain or stressful times it is common to feel overwhelmed or stuck, and he believes there is often “the one thing” that can lead to meaningful action. While understanding why certain patterns occur can be useful, his focus is on helping people move beyond analysis to practical steps, honoring that the individual is the expert on their own life.
Many people ask whether remote therapy can make a real difference. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in the format that best fits their needs and schedule – via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to incorporate therapy into daily life.
Therapists who provide online care are licensed professionals, and clients may switch to a different therapist at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many individuals, remote therapy offers an accessible, practical way to get support for everyday mental health and life challenges.
