Patricia Brooks earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Master of Science in Youth and Family Services from Bellevue University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri, holding the state counseling license MO LPC 2019036084, and has practiced as a professional counselor for 11 years while contributing more than 20 years to mental and behavioral health services.
Patricia seeks to create a therapy environment where clients feel safe, respected, and heard. She approaches the therapeutic relationship with a non-judgmental, open, and trustworthy manner, guided by the belief that hope and the ability to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes create opportunities for meaningful change.
Working with individuals, families, and groups, Patricia uses an eclectic therapeutic approach that blends Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Solution-Focused strategies, Reality-Based methods, Dialectical Behavior Therapy principles, and psychoeducation. She provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to people aged thirteen and up, and maintains evening and weekend availability. Patricia accepts commercial insurance plans and employee assistance programs to help clients access care.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For a wide range of common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes - online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the most notable benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect with their therapist in the format that feels most comfortable, choosing from video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists offering online care are licensed professionals, and individuals may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people, the accessibility and variety of communication methods make online therapy a practical and effective way to pursue mental health and well-being.
