I am Natasha Jones Kinto (Lumbee) and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor. I completed my Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2017. I have over three years of clinical experience in individual and group therapy.
I received a fellowship award to study addictions and to provide culturally competent counseling services for underserved populations. I have experience working with college students, young adults, adults and elders.
My theoretical orientation is Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I utilize a trauma-informed approach as well as Motivational Interviewing (MI) principles. My techniques focus on the client’s motivation to change, their irrational thoughts and effects on behavior.
I am person-centered and passionate about service to others. I have a biopsychosocialspiritual perspective to wellness that includes a holistic therapy style. My goal is to provide my clients with the tools that they need to live a balanced life.

Natasha Kinto (Lumbee) is a licensed clinician who combines specialized training in mental health and addictions with a culturally informed approach to care.
She holds licensure to practice as a clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina and maintains a clinical professional counselor credential in Nevada, along with national board certification and a credential as a clinical addictions specialist associate. She completed a Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2017 and brings six years of professional experience to her work.
Natasha received a fellowship to study addictions and to deliver culturally competent services for underserved populations, and she has worked with college students, young adults, adults, and elders in both individual and group therapy settings. Her therapeutic approach blends Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy with a trauma-informed stance and principles of Motivational Interviewing. She focuses on clients’ motivation to change, on identifying and reframing irrational thoughts, and on understanding how beliefs influence behavior.
