Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My name is Myron Dianiska, a Licensed Psychological Associate and Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and Texas. I have over 50 years of experience in the mental health field, and currently operate a private practice in Sugar Land Tx.
My primary work is with adults who are experiencing difficulties with habit disorders (smoking), anxiety, phobias and career choice difficulties. I also work with adolescents, athletes, particularly runners, who want to improve their performance and improve their mental toughness. My overall approach is a holistic one, as I believe good nutrition, sleep habits and exercise are fundamental to mental health.
My approach is based on developing a strong therapeutic relationship, within a cognitive-behavioral model. More recently I have developed an expertise in virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET). This new, exciting technology, compared to traditional behavior therapy, has proved to be more effective, faster, practical and increases therapy privacy. VRET can be utilized to work with a variety of mental health issues, most notably anxiety, phobias, depression, trauma, stress, ADHD, OCD and PTSD. but also to train individuals in mindfulness and relaxation. Chronic pain sufferers experience relief by using the technology of virtual reality. The significant advantage of VRET is that it can be done remotely with the appropriate platform, using only a smart phone and a Google cardboard headset or equivalent. There is no need for office visits.
I completed my MS in clinical psychology at Ohio University in 1972 and my MBA at the University of Houston in 1984. My professional experience includes working in the various sectors of the mental health field, including addiction rehabilitation, residential treatment, state mental hospital, private psychiatric hospitals, private practice, and in schools. I have experience with all ages and all levels of mental health severity.

Myron Dianiska is a seasoned mental health professional with more than 50 years of experience, operating a private practice in Sugar Land, Texas. He is a Licensed Psychological Associate and a Licensed Professional Counselor, holding professional counseling credentials registered with the appropriate state licensing boards.
Myron’s primary work focuses on adults coping with habit disorders such as smoking, anxiety, phobias and challenges related to career choice. He also works with adolescents and with athletes – particularly runners – who are seeking to boost performance and build mental toughness. His outlook on healing is holistic, emphasizing how sound nutrition, regular exercise and healthy sleep habits support psychological wellbeing.
Therapeutically he emphasizes a strong collaborative relationship and uses a cognitive-behavioral framework to guide treatment. In recent years he has developed specialized expertise in virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET). This technology-based approach, compared to traditional behavior therapy, has demonstrated advantages in speed, practicality and the ability to increase discretion for clients. VRET can be applied across a range of concerns, including anxiety, phobias, depression, trauma, stress, ADHD, OCD and PTSD, and it is also useful for mindfulness, relaxation training and providing relief for some chronic pain sufferers. A practical benefit of VRET is that it can be delivered remotely with a suitable platform using only a smartphone and an inexpensive headset such as Google Cardboard, reducing the need for office visits.
Myron earned an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University in 1972 and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston in 1984. His professional background spans multiple sectors of the mental health field, including addiction rehabilitation, residential treatment, state mental hospitals, private psychiatric hospitals, private practice and school-based services, giving him experience with clients of all ages and with a wide range of clinical severity.
Many people ask whether online therapy produces meaningful results. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or life transitions, research and clinical practice show that remote therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care.
A central benefit is flexibility – clients can meet with therapists using the format that best fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. Online formats can support the same therapeutic goals as face-to-face work, making remote care a practical choice for many people seeking help.
