Monica Gutierrez is an Arizona-native who earned a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University. Monica is passionate about supporting young people in becoming the best versions of themselves and has been lucky enough to work with them in different settings including outpatient, inpatient, and now as a part of the Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP) team. She believes strongly in supporting clients and families with the use of a strengths-based, client-centered, humanistic and family systems approach, in order to empower the individual within the family, and the family as a unit. Monica has utilized her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, as well as in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to support teens and young adults through their personal growth journey while in our program. She understands the importance of therapeutic alliance as it relates to optimizing progress in treatment and does her best to really get to know each and every client to make their treatment experience as unique and individual as possible. It is an honor to be part of each treatment team and she is inspired by each client’s journey and growth. When Monica is not at work, you will find her spending her free time with friends, crafting, spending quality time with family, or going on long walks with her dog!

Monica Gutierrez is an Arizona-native who earned a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University and brings seven years of clinical experience to her work.
She is a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania (PA LCSW CW023843) and Oregon (OR LCSW L15722). Monica has focused much of her practice on supporting teens and young adults across settings – including outpatient and inpatient care – and currently serves on the Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP) team.
Monica uses a strengths-based, client-centered, humanistic and family systems approach to empower both individuals and the families around them. She applies training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support personal growth for adolescents and young adults while they participate in the program.
She places strong value on the therapeutic alliance and works to understand each person she sees, shaping treatment so the experience is as individualized as possible. Monica considers it an honor to be part of treatment teams and finds inspiration in each client’s journey and progress.
Outside of work, Monica spends her free time with friends, crafting, enjoying family time, and taking long walks with her dog.
