Michelle Chabot brings a service-oriented approach to counseling, offering a calm and supportive space for clients to share their stories and work toward meaningful change. She aims to instill hope by helping clients uncover insights, clarify goals, and develop practical steps to achieve those goals, guiding them through past, present, and future challenges.
Life circumstances can leave people feeling alone, betrayed, hurt, vulnerable, anxious, angry, or overwhelmed by a mix of emotions. Michelle works alongside clients as a reflective guide - exploring experiences, identifying lessons, and finding ways to foster personal growth and resilience.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado (CO LPC LPC.0018627). Michelle served 12 years in the Air Force and is a combat veteran; she draws on those life experiences to support individuals and families facing military-related stresses such as marriage and family adjustments, career transitions, relocations, crisis, and trauma.
Michelle has experience with individuals, couples, and families, as well as children and adolescents coping with concerns like depression, anxiety, communication difficulties, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, and trauma. She has also counseled and facilitated support groups addressing infertility, miscarriage and stillbirth, unplanned pregnancies, and abortions. Her work includes resilience building through relationship strengthening, confidence building, pre-marital counseling, and other client-identified goals.
Her therapeutic approach centers on forming a genuine, caring relationship so clients feel at ease and heard. Michelle primarily integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to examine a client’s story and reshape thought patterns that may be limiting progress. She also uses client-centered methods and techniques such as Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness to understand each person’s situation and pursue a balanced, healthier life.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
An important benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that best fits their lives, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistent care without disrupting daily routines.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. For many individuals, online therapy offers an accessible, adaptable path to support and progress toward their goals.
