Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Welcome to BetterHelp! You have made a brave step toward better managing your life and feeling better. I commend you and extend my commitment to stand beside you as you move forward on this journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. I am also board certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I hold an International Reciprocal Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in Missouri, I am also a Missouri Certified Clinical Supervisor and Certified Grief Educator. I have been providing therapy for the past 18 years and have been in the mental health field for 21 years. I have experience working with persons across the age spectrum and through a variety of issues. My approach is to meet the amazing people I work with wherever they may be in their lives and walk with them on their journey toward better health and a more content and fulfilling life.

I utilize several counseling approaches, including mindfulness training (helping people focus on the present and be fully in touch with their thoughts, emotions, body sensations and environment, without judgement of self or others); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (exploring how thoughts impact emotions and behavior and practical ways to change thought processes to improve mood and change patterns of behavior); and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (focusing on learning skills to better understand emotions, regulate emotions when they are intense, and improve interpersonal effectiveness).
I have three adult children and enjoy writing and traveling. I not only teach mindfulness, but practice it on a daily basis.

I very much look forward to working with you as you travel your personal journey toward the life you want to live. Peace and stay mindful!

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist remotely will truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that best fits their needs and routine, whether that is a video session, a phone call, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and integrate therapy into a busy life.

All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different match, it is possible to switch therapists. For many people, remote therapy offers a practical, evidence-informed option for addressing everyday mental health challenges while fitting treatment into their schedules.
