My name is Mary Newbauer, I am recently retired after 28 years of providing service to patients and families at the end of life. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin. I received my masters degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1999. After all these years it is still my wish to provide comfort through counseling to those who hurt, not only from the death of a loved one, but also loss through divorce, ending of a significant relationship, even our own aging process.
I work with individuals who are going through life transitions. Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can make a meaningful difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that best fits their routines and comfort level, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to keep therapy consistent amid busy schedules. Licensed professionals provide care through these formats, and clients can switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many people facing everyday mental health and life-adjustment challenges, online therapy offers an accessible, effective route to support and progress.
