Marquita Wooley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with minors in Religion and Abnormal Psychology and completed a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She holds professional counseling licenses in Alabama and in Texas - the Texas credential includes supervisor-level authorization - and she is also a certified clinical hypnotherapist.
With 17 years of professional experience, she has developed a broad clinical background in multicultural counseling, working with families, children, adolescents, adults, young adults, and college students from diverse backgrounds. She enjoys providing services to active duty military members, their dependents, veterans, and the civilian community.
Her clinical work spans community mental health treatment centers and hospitals across multiple levels of care, including acute, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice. Wooley seeks to spark meaningful change in people’s lives and relationships by offering a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental space to explore thoughts and concerns at each person’s own pace.
She primarily follows a person-centered orientation while drawing on an eclectic mix of techniques such as cognitive behavioral approaches, motivational interviewing, conflict resolution strategies, and humanistic methods, all tailored to individual needs. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, relationship issues, parenting, self-esteem, stress, and sleep. She approaches every client with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and she customizes dialogue and goals to meet each person’s unique needs while supporting the first steps toward a more fulfilling, happier life.
Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been found to be an effective option comparable to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that best fits their routines and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to include therapy in a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they seek a different therapeutic fit. For many people, online therapy offers a practical and effective route to addressing everyday mental health concerns and working toward meaningful change.
