Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am glad you found your way here let’s make it worth your while! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist in the state of Florida. I have eleven years of experience working with children, families, adults and couples. I also work as private practitioner helping individuals and families with issues related to depression, anxiety, life changes, coping with grief and self-esteem issues. I am a trained systemic therapist who see individuals as part of a system. Your current issues may have a lot to do with the system you are or were part of. Trauma, dysfunctions in the family, stress and conflicts don’t happen in a vacuum they happen within the framework of systems. Taking a closer look at that system to understand context and patterns is crucial in gaining self-awareness and growth. If you are able to figure out the WHY and HOW, you will gain insight thus be able to identify tools to help manage or resolve the issues that brought you to therapy. My approach to therapy is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment conducive for self-discovery and growth. I encourage an atmosphere of honesty, compassion and accountability. I help clients identify and use their strengths to occupy the driver’s seat in their own lives. My personal goal for my clients is that even if we are unsuccessful in finding solutions to your issues, you can leave therapy with renewed sense of self and more empowered than when you started.

Mariama Samateh is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in Florida with 12 years of clinical experience. She is also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, working with people across the lifespan.
She has supported children, families, adults and couples, and in private practice she helps individuals and families address depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and self-esteem concerns. Her work also includes supporting clients through parenting challenges, relationship and family conflict, and coping with addiction or mood disorders.
Trained in a systemic approach, she understands that individual struggles often arise within the context of relationships and family systems. Trauma, family dysfunction, stress and conflict rarely occur in isolation – examining the surrounding system and its patterns is central to increasing self-awareness and fostering change.
Her therapeutic style emphasizes a safe, non-judgmental space that encourages self-discovery, honesty, compassion and accountability. She helps clients identify and build on their strengths so they can take a more active role in their lives. Her goal is that, even if every problem is not fully resolved, clients leave therapy with a renewed sense of self and greater empowerment than when they began.
