Mareike Coakley is an integrative therapist based in the United Kingdom who offers a safe, non-judgmental space for people feeling stuck, anxious, or struggling with low self-esteem, and for those finding relationships with themselves or others difficult. She adapts her work to each person’s needs, drawing on person-centred therapy, Transactional Analysis and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
She places the therapeutic relationship at the centre of her practice and welcomes all parts of a person into sessions, including feelings of anger, shame or being lost. With a background in education and extensive experience supporting children, young people and adults, Mareike is committed to helping individuals reconnect with their authentic selves and to walking alongside them through life’s tricky moments.
Her specialties include grief, parenting, self-esteem, depression and coping with life changes. She works with a wide range of presentations such as grief, identity questions, navigating stressful situations, relationship rupture, anxiety, feeling suicidal and exploring reactions to a new diagnosis. Someone might not always be able to put a finger on what is going on, and Mareike offers collaborative support to help make sense of their world.
She has three years' experience and practises as a female, non-religious therapist. Mareike is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abides by their Ethical Framework. She is also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and takes the protection of personal data seriously.
