Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, , I am Lori Centineo, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New York. I earned my Master of Social Work degree at The University of Albany and have been practicing for the past six years. Prior to being a social worker, I was an elementary school teacher. While I enjoyed the teaching profession very much, my desire to help others in a more direct manner lead me to return to school, to begin a new career and chapter in my life. Since beginning my practice, I have had success working with adults, children, families and couples in outpatient settings to address issues related to depression, anxiety, grief, anger, family dynamics, trauma and transitions.
My warm, friendly and empathetic approach fosters an environment where clients feel accepted and safe, clearing the way for the development of therapeutic relationship that is key to success in therapy. I see therapy as a team approach between the client and the therapist, with the client leading the way, as each client is the real expert his/her life. I am skillful in many treatment modalities, such as Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness and Emotion Focused Therapy. I personalize my approach with each client, contingent on his or her needs, skills and persona.
I look forward to beginning your therapeutic journey with you.

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can meet with their therapist in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to keep therapy consistent and integrated into daily life.
Sessions are delivered by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. For many people, the combination of professional care and practical convenience makes online therapy a helpful option to consider.
