I also have extensive experience working with first responders and their loved ones. I am excited to work with you, and am excited about the flexibility that is offered through BetterHelp. I am very open-minded, and am looking forward to helping you experience your best level of mental health.

Elizabeth “Liz” Hummert is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and serves as a clinical supervisor. She earned a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2004 and holds a Texas clinical social work license (TX LCSW 40267), a credential that authorizes her to provide clinical therapy and supervise other clinicians.
With 20 years of clinical experience, Liz has worked in a range of settings and with clients across the lifespan. Her practice has included supporting people who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, crime, and abuse, and she has extensive experience working with first responders and their loved ones.
Liz addresses a variety of concerns including family conflict, trauma and abuse, grief, parenting challenges, stress and anxiety, addictions, LGBT matters, relationship issues, anger management, self-esteem difficulties, depression, and coping with life changes. She approaches care with an open mind and a focus on helping people reach improved levels of mental health and functioning.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For a wide range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions – online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that fits their needs and comfort level, connecting with a therapist through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access help when traveling or unable to attend in person.
These services are provided by licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an effective and convenient option for addressing everyday mental health concerns and life challenges.
