Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified LPC Supervisor with over 33 years of experience in providing counseling services. My earlier experience as a teacher, both secondary and post-secondary, laid the foundation for my passion for education, life-long learning, and the capacity for personal evolvement. In addition to the MA in Counseling, I hold an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and have served as director of Counseling Services as well as university Dean of Student Development. My experience in education has contributed to my belief in personal growth and development, and teaching self-efficacy skill building is a cornerstone of my counseling service. I borrow Baxter Magolda’s theory of self-authorship along the life span and apply it in my counseling. Her metaphor of riding a tandem bicycle is particularly applicable to my practice. My interpretation is that the client is the driver of the counseling experience. They steer and dictate the direction for the session. As the second rider, I provide appropriate information, energy, encouragement, and guidance.
My primary modalities for therapy are cognitive-behavioral, client centered, reality therapy, and motivational interviewing. However, I appreciate the client’s integrity and I adapt my techniques according to their needs. I have worked with individuals with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger management challenges, relationship conflict, career exploration, eating disorders, self-esteem, grief and loss, panic disorder, sexual orientation and gender identity, and academic skill building. In general, my role as a counselor is to assist the client in conceptualizing the concern, defining objectives for change, and identifying appropriate interventions.
I look forward to meeting you, listening to you, and assisting you in defining goals to achieve self-authorship in your life.

Linda Griffin is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified LPC supervisor with 39 years of experience offering counseling services. She is licensed to practice as a professional counselor in both Louisiana and Virginia and brings a long history of work in clinical and educational settings.
Her earlier career as a secondary and post-secondary teacher laid the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to education and personal development. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, and she has served as director of Counseling Services as well as university Dean of Student Development.
Teaching and administration inform her belief in the value of skill-building and self-efficacy. She applies Baxter Magolda’s theory of self-authorship in her practice, using the tandem bicycle metaphor to describe the therapeutic relationship: the client steers the direction of the work while she acts as the second rider, offering information, energy, encouragement, and guidance.
Her primary therapeutic approaches include cognitive-behavioral techniques, a client-centered stance, reality therapy, and motivational interviewing, and she adapts methods to match each person’s needs. Griffin has worked with individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, eating disorders, self-esteem and intimacy-related issues, relationship and family conflicts, career difficulties and academic skill building, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, anger management, and questions related to sexual orientation and gender identity. She practices in Louisiana and offers a supportive, goal-focused approach to help clients define objectives and identify interventions that foster personal growth and self-authorship.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can produce meaningful results. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or managing life transitions, research and clinical experience indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person treatment.
An important benefit of online therapy is flexibility – clients can choose the format that best fits their lives and comfort level, whether that is video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistency and integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals deliver care through these remote options, and clients have the ability to switch therapists if they prefer a different match. For many people facing everyday mental health and relationship concerns, online therapy provides a practical, accessible path to support and change.
