About

I am a marital and family therapist licensed in Connecticut with nearly thirty years of experience working in the mental health field at all levels of care including a variety of out patient settings through in patient psychiatric hospitalization. My professional interests include: depression, anxiety, relationship issues in just about any context from personal to professional, effective parenting within both bio and blended families, career challenges, emotional abuse, women’s issues, codependency, medical/addiction issues and their profound impact on family members, grief and loss, life changes, and more. Training as a family therapist with a systems perspective provides me with a solid foundation for working with people of all ages in a wide range of situations.

I earned my B.S. in Education at the University of Connecticut in 1973, an M.S. in Education from Central CT in 1976, then an M.S. in Counseling with a focus on Marital and Family Therapy in 1992, also at Central CT. I was a public school teacher for nearly two decades before making a career change.

I believe that adequate self care and social supports, effective communication and healthy boundary setting, along with realistic expectations are all essential to life satisfaction. My clinical approach is founded in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused. I strive to be positive, warm and strength based. I am privileged to work with clients exploring their challenges in a caring setting and find it rewarding when clients are willing/able to make positive shifts in attitudes and behaviors, restoring balance to their lives. It takes courage to commit to change. When you’re ready to take your first step, I’m here to encourage and support you. I remain forever grateful to my clients. I’ve learned something from each and everyone along the way.

Always happy to hear from you!

Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility – you can connect with a therapist in the format that fits your life, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety of options makes it easier to access care without rearranging your entire schedule. Licensed professionals provide online services, and if you decide you would prefer a different therapist you can switch at any time. For many individuals seeking help with everyday mental health needs, online therapy offers an effective, convenient pathway to support and growth.
