Dr. Laurie Miles is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Tennessee with licensure in both Tennessee and Kentucky. With 30 years of experience working with individuals, she brings longstanding clinical knowledge to challenges including addictions, relationship problems, trauma and abuse, depression, intimacy-related concerns, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue.
She is a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) who uses evidence-based assessment tools and treatment approaches to help clients move toward sobriety and begin the recovery process. As a directive clinician, Dr. Miles sets objective, concrete goals to guide work in session and to help clients make measurable progress.
Her interventions are trauma-focused and address family-of-origin and attachment issues as well as the trauma that can follow partner betrayal. She also incorporates the Internal Family Systems model to work with trauma and support the development of Self-Leadership.
Sessions are offered by live video or by phone, run 45 minutes in length, and are typically scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Central Time. Prospective clients are encouraged to reach out so Dr. Miles and they can discuss how best to meet their needs and arrange an initial appointment.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, research and clinical experience indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care.
One major advantage is flexibility - clients can connect in whatever format works best for them, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and maintain continuity of care.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. For many people facing everyday mental health or relationship challenges, online therapy offers a practical and effective route to support and progress.
