Kevin Kramer is a licensed clinical social worker in Texas with 22 years of professional experience. For the past 13 years he has provided services to all branches of active duty military stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
He has particular strength in working with PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders, and he also addresses stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, addictions, LGBT concerns, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, career difficulties, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
Kevin takes a collaborative approach, partnering with each person to set clear goals and supporting them as they work toward those goals. He emphasizes that mental health struggles are not a character flaw and that people cannot simply think themselves happy or “just snap out of it”. He offers education and practical information to help manage symptoms.
Kevin is a COVID long-hauler and has lived with persistent COVID symptoms since November 2020. Because of his own experience, he can offer support and share strategies that have helped him while he continues to cope with post-COVID effects. Over his career he has consistently received feedback that he is genuine and sincere - “No BS.” If he is not the right fit, he will refer clients to someone who can better meet their needs, and he will help ensure they can access the support they sought through Better Help.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, research and practice have shown that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the way that fits their life best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging all make it easier to attend sessions without rearranging a full day.
These services are delivered by licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists if they want a different match. The convenience and range of communication options can help people sustain therapy over time and address everyday concerns with consistent support.
