Katherine Murphy is a registered member of the BACP in the United Kingdom and brings 3 years of professional counselling experience to her work.
She supports people with stress and anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, work-related stress, chronic illness and associated pain. She is a female therapist who identifies as gay and offers a warm, collaborative approach.
Katherine believes people often carry a puzzle within themselves and that they also hold many of the answers. She uses the image of a Rubik’s cube to describe how life events such as relationship breakdown, stress and loss can leave parts of us feeling scrambled.
In sessions she helps clients explore and make sense of individual squares and what those pieces mean for them. Her aim is not necessarily to complete the entire puzzle - fitting in some of the pieces can be enough to create a noticeable positive shift.
Katherine works in a relational way and is comfortable using analogies and pop culture to deepen the therapeutic connection. She collaborates with clients to create an open, non-judgemental space where thoughts and feelings can be shared freely.
She looks forward to hearing from people interested in starting therapy.
