Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I’ve been licensed to practice psychology for over thirty years. I am retired from work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons where I worked with individuals (staff and inmates) experiencing extreme life circumstances as well as depression, anxiety and family issues. After I retired, I had my own business as a matchmaker, but found that I was missing my therapeutic work. I did learn quite a bit during my 4+ years as a matchmaker about what works and what doesn’t work in the search for a life mate. This is an extra set of skills I bring to the table in working with folks.
One therapy style does not fit all, so I work to tailor my approach to what my clients request and what they need. Sometimes a deep dive into the historic underpinnings of current life problems is warranted, but sometimes a problem-solving approach is appropriate. I work with people to figure out what their goals are for therapy and to tailor my interventions accordingly. I also believe therapy should not be like experiencing a root canal! I work to bring perspective to my clients and to help them experience joy even in the midst of difficult situations.

Dr. Katherine Freiman-Fox has practiced psychology for over thirty years, bringing long experience to people facing a wide range of life challenges. She retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons after working with both staff and inmates who were coping with extreme circumstances, as well as with depression, anxiety, and family difficulties.
Following her federal career, she operated a matchmaking business for more than four years. That work added a practical set of skills about what tends to succeed – and what does not – in the search for a life mate, and she draws on those insights when appropriate in therapeutic work.
Dr. Freiman-Fox adapts her methods to each person she sees, recognizing that one therapy style does not fit all. Sometimes she explores the historical roots of current problems in depth; other times she emphasizes practical problem-solving. She collaborates with clients to define clear goals for therapy and to select interventions that match those goals.
She strives to make therapy approachable rather than something to dread, helping clients gain perspective and find moments of joy even amid difficult situations. Dr. Freiman-Fox is a licensed psychologist in North Carolina – her professional credential is NC Psychologist 2582 – and she brings three decades of experience to her work.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that feels best for them, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to choose the format that supports engagement and comfort.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, evidence-supported way to address everyday mental health concerns and to work toward personal goals.
