Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello and Welcome! Here is a bit about me and how I can join you on your counseling journey:
I have a master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2012), am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, and a National Certified Counselor. My experience lies in working with individuals with substance use issues, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, stress management, identity issues, and LGBTQ concerns.
My approach to counseling is humanistic with a foundation in Existential Therapy. I view the client as their own expert and seek to build a collaborative counseling relationship that will aid in the process of connecting to a meaningful life. I believe that this can be accomplished by exploring personal experience, how we exist in the world, and the meaning we find/create in our lives. It is my belief that the healing is in the lessons that we can discover through the counseling process. It is my goal to be present with the client and to offer a nonjudgmental, understanding atmosphere.
In my practice I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches to explore client needs. Some of these approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Mindfulness. Through the use of these approaches the client is able to learn to cope more effectively with the conditions of the human experience with a sense of meaning and purpose.
Our lives are like a tapestry, with experiences being woven together to create an image. We need the contrast of the light and dark to depict our story. We may not be able to see the beauty or understand the meaning until we take a step back, with another set of eyes, and see our story from a place of compassion. It is then that we can appreciate, and even love, our fate.

Katelyn Elliott is a Pennsylvania-based counselor who combines a humanistic outlook with an existential foundation to support people in finding meaning and direction in their lives. She earned a master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2012 and practices as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania while also holding national certification as a counselor.
With 13 years of experience, Katelyn has worked with individuals facing substance use concerns, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, stress management, identity questions, and LGBTQ-related issues. Her clinical background centers on helping people manage symptoms while exploring deeper sources of meaning and purpose.
Katelyn approaches counseling as a collaborative process that treats the individual as the expert on their own life. She aims to create a present, nonjudgmental, and understanding atmosphere where clients can examine how they exist in the world and the significance they make of their experiences. Healing, she believes, often comes from the insights and lessons discovered through that exploration.
In practice she blends several evidence-informed techniques to address each person’s needs, including cognitive behavioral strategies, motivational enhancement approaches, and mindfulness practices. This integration helps clients develop practical coping tools while maintaining a focus on connection and meaning.
She often uses imagery of a woven tapestry to describe how life’s events form a larger picture – the contrasts of light and dark contribute to the whole. Working together provides another perspective that can make the patterns and purpose more visible, allowing clients to view their path with increased compassion and acceptance.
Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions for most individuals.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that feels best, whether through video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability can make it easier to maintain consistent care alongside work, family, and other responsibilities.
Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and if someone decides they would prefer a different fit, it is possible to switch providers. Online therapy can be a practical way to access professional support while keeping therapy manageable within a busy life.
