Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, and welcome. I am primarily an emotional release therapist, but have training in CBT / DBT / EFT and other modalities… I have worked in the mental health field for over 17 years.
I have worked with a wide range of clients, from ADHD to OCD to just about everything in between, but my favorite populations are hoarders, those with depression, and people who have suffered serious trauma, such as first responders, or victims of trauma. My favorite technique to use is one that combines the CLIENT’S FAITH BASE (belief in a higher power, prayer), with some ENERGY WORK. It is effective and quick, and most of the people I’ve worked with have seen resolution within 1-3 sessions. Please bear in mind, that you may need longer than that, based on your trauma and duration, but as this is so quick and effective, It’s my preferred method for getting you up and out of the trenches so that you can start living your life from a healthier and more healed point of view. Once your “stuck” points are worked out, then we can continue therapy from a more educational standpoint, where you’ll learn techniques, strategies and skills.
Welcome…. I’m glad you’re here…. Let’s get started….

Carolyn “Kari” Homan Shannon is an emotional release therapist based in Texas with 18 years of experience. She combines compassionate care with practical training in CBT, DBT, EFT, and additional therapeutic modalities to support clients through emotional healing.
She has worked with a broad spectrum of concerns, from ADHD and OCD to many other presentations, and particularly focuses on hoarding behaviors, depression, and people who have experienced significant trauma – including first responders and victims of trauma. Her clinical work is informed by both psychological methods and attention to clients’ personal beliefs.
Her preferred approach blends the client’s faith base – including belief in a higher power and prayer when appropriate – with energy work. She finds this combination to be efficient and often reports that many clients experience meaningful resolution within one to three sessions, while acknowledging that the length of care needed depends on the nature and duration of a person’s trauma.
Once initial ‘stuck’ points are addressed, she shifts treatment to a more educational phase, teaching techniques, strategies, and skills to sustain progress. Carolyn “Kari” Homan Shannon holds TX LPC 62833, a Licensed Professional Counselor credential in Texas, and identifies as a female, older therapist who provides services that can reflect Christian, non-religious, or conservative perspectives as appropriate for the client.
She welcomes new clients and invites those ready to begin to take the next step toward healthier, more healed living.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
A major benefit is convenience and flexibility – clients can meet with a therapist in the format that suits them best, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This makes it easier to integrate therapy into busy schedules and to stay consistent with care.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they need a different match. For many concerns, online therapy is a practical and effective choice that adapts to individual needs and lifestyles.
