Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! My name is Kara Snodgrass and I am looking forward to this new way of counseling. I am licensed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 10 years experience working as a therapist. Before becoming a counselor I worked as a family support worker for 5 years. My experiences include in-home work with families and children, substance abuse, child protective services, foster care and crisis work with the goal of reunification when possible. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including relationship issues, parenting problems, with a special focus in anxiety. I have a collaborative, client centered approach. I offer a variety of interventions depending on your needs. My approach is focused on you, I take your lead but can nudge if I think it will be helpful. I am empathetic and and believe we are all struggling in some area.
You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. The frequency with which you can have access to a counselor to work through day to day emotions and problem solving is extremely beneficial for most and a nice change from traditional outpatient counseling. I usually check messages each day, five days per week. I offer messaging, live chat and phone sessions with limited availability in the evenings and weekends. Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability so you always want to check that out with me through messaging first.

Kara Snodgrass is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina who brings 12 years of professional therapy experience to her work. Before becoming a counselor she spent five years as a family support worker, providing in-home services and support for families and children while engaging in substance abuse, child protective services, foster care, and crisis work aimed at reunification when possible.
She has supported people facing a wide range of concerns, including stress and anxiety, family conflicts, self-esteem struggles, ADHD, relationship issues, grief, parenting challenges, anger management, depression, and compassion fatigue. Kara uses a collaborative, client-centered approach and draws on several clinical methods to match interventions to each person’s needs. Her toolbox includes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic techniques, solution-focused strategies, trauma-focused work, and client-centered care.
Kara aims to follow the client’s lead while offering gentle guidance when it may be helpful. She describes herself as empathetic and works from the perspective that everyone is navigating difficulty in some area of life.
Clients can message her at any time through the platform. She typically checks messages each weekday, five days per week, and offers messaging, live chat, and phone sessions, with limited evening and weekend availability. Because calendar listings may not reflect her complete schedule, she encourages prospective clients to confirm other possible times by sending a message first.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life transitions – remote therapy can be just as effective as in-person treatment. Research and clinical practice support its suitability for these issues, making it a practical option for people seeking help.
One major benefit is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their routine and comfort level, whether that is a video session, a phone call, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule and to access support from different locations.
Licensed professionals provide care in the online setting, and if someone wants a different therapeutic match they may switch providers. That flexibility often helps people find the right fit and continue progressing toward their goals.
