Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am an individual and group therapist with over 30 years of experience working with diverse clients over a wide socioeconomic spectrum. The range of client concerns addressed have included: self-esteem and competence challenges, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress sequelae, emotional flooding and interpersonal effectiveness problems, relationship problems, including job-related communications problems, lack of meaning, living with chronic pain and physical illness, challenges in mid-life and aging, and co-occurring disorders such as depression/anxiety/substance abuse.
My basic philosophy is that we all have a deep well of wisdom within us to help us move through life’s problems and reach a place of competence and meaning. But often, a combination of skills deficits, negative patterns of thinking, inability to self-soothe and feelings of helplessness, along with lack of access to information or resources, blocks our ability to drink from the well. My job as a therapist is to invite my client into a working partnership in which my client feels safe in self-disclosure as we discern the issues my client wants to address and search for solutions and healing. This partnership is a sacred trust. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Julie Lynn Stanton is an individual and group therapist with over 30 years of experience working with clients across a wide socioeconomic spectrum. Her clinical practice has addressed a broad range of concerns, including self-esteem and competence challenges, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress sequelae, episodes of emotional flooding and interpersonal effectiveness difficulties, relationship problems including job-related communication issues, struggles with meaning, coping with chronic pain and physical illness, challenges in mid-life and aging, and co-occurring disorders such as combined depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
Her guiding belief is that each person carries a deep well of inner wisdom that can help them move through life’s problems toward competence and meaning. Access to that inner resource is often blocked by a mix of skill deficits, negative thinking patterns, difficulty self-soothing, feelings of helplessness, or lack of information and resources.
In practice, Julie invites clients into a collaborative working partnership where they can feel safe to disclose and together clarify the issues to address while seeking practical solutions and healing. She regards that partnership as a sacred trust. Julie holds a license as a clinical social worker in North Carolina (NC LCSW C002216) and welcomes the opportunity to work with people seeking support.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the primary advantages is flexibility. People can connect in the way that feels most comfortable – via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging, which can make it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and clients may switch to a different therapist at any time if they prefer a different fit.
