People dying from the global wars as well as natural and manmade disasters. Unusual weather patterns that are having unprecedented impact all over the world causing destruction and tremendous loss of lives. We need healing all over our land. There is a clarion call to all helping professionals to get involved and help with the healing process.
I am Julia Brown a licensed independent practitioner and professional counselor. I retired in 2017at the age of 65 after working 27 years in the mental health field. I performed direct clinical services for 14 of those years and worked in a supervisory role the remaining 13 years. I obtained a BA in Psychology from MS College in Clinton, MS in 1988 and an MS in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern MS in Hattiesburg, MS in 1990. I became licensed as a professional counselor in 1994 and obtained my LPC Supervisor’s credential in 2008. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, trauma focused therapy and veteran’s issues. I have worked with adults and adolescents as well as couples and first responders. I am currently serving the prison population doing contract work with releasees from federal prison into the halfway house setting. I felt a strong urge to get involved and use my skills in some small way to help with the healing of humanity all over our land.

She has 32 years of experience providing therapy services. Earlier in her career she retired in 2017 at age 65 after 27 years in the mental health field, during which she delivered 14 years of direct clinical care and spent 13 years in supervisory roles.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mississippi College in Clinton, earned in 1988, followed by a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, completed in 1990. She became a licensed professional counselor in 1994 and obtained her LPC supervisor credential in 2008.
Julia has extensive experience in crisis intervention, trauma-focused therapy, and veteran issues. She has worked with adults and adolescents, supported couples and first responders, and currently provides contract services assisting individuals released from federal prison as they transition into halfway house settings. Motivated by a deep sense of purpose, she remains committed to helping others heal and navigate life’s challenges.
