Jennifer Teague

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a born and raised Texan who now finds herself living in the land of Oklahoma. I have known that I wanted to be a counselor since I was in junior high school. Our family was going through some difficult times, and our counselor really made a difference in my life for the better!

I graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lubbock Christian University, and began my work in the field of mental health. I then went on to complete my Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2002. I obtained my licensure as a professional counselor in the State of Texas in 2005, and also have my counseling license in Oklahoma as well. I keep my licenses active in both states as I’m never sure where life will have me next.

I have worked in many different areas of mental health… and the one thing I keep coming back to is wanting to be able to work one on one with a person… find out what makes them tick, find out where they are hurting and do what I can to help them find solutions to their problems. I use a lot of cognitive behavioral techniques, I believe that identifying and challenging our irrational thoughts can make a huge impact on how we feel and act.

I’m laid back, love to laugh, listen to WAY too many audio books, and love spending time with my husband, Chris, my cat, Bella and my dogs, Dakota and Mr. Paco. I love football, road trips and going on cruises.

About

Jennifer Teague is a Texas native who now lives in Oklahoma and brings 15 years of professional experience to her counseling work. She knew from junior high that she wanted to be a counselor after experiencing the positive impact a family counselor made during a difficult time. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lubbock Christian University in 1998 and completed a Master of Arts degree in Counseling at Dallas Baptist University in 2002. She became licensed as a professional counselor in Texas in 2005 and also holds a counseling license in Oklahoma, keeping both licenses active to remain flexible about where life may lead her. Her Texas professional counseling license is listed as number 19349.

Jennifer has worked across many areas of mental health but consistently prefers one-on-one work that explores what makes a person tick, uncovers sources of pain, and helps identify practical solutions. She frequently uses cognitive behavioral techniques, believing that identifying and challenging irrational thoughts can significantly change how people feel and act. Her specialties include stress, anxiety, grief, depression, sleep concerns, anger, self-esteem issues, and coping with life changes.

Professionally grounded yet approachable, she describes herself as laid back and enjoys laughing, listening to a large number of audiobooks, and spending time with her husband, Chris, her cat Bella, and her dogs Dakota and Mr. Paco. Outside of work she enjoys football, road trips and cruises.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For everyday concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life transitions, research indicates that online therapy can match the effectiveness of traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is the scheduling flexibility it offers. You can meet with a therapist in the way that suits you best – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or messaging within an app – which makes it simpler to weave therapy into a busy routine. All therapists are licensed professionals, and if you feel another provider might be a better fit, you are free to change practitioners at any time.
